New to St. Paul’s? Here are answers to a few frequently asked questions…
Where can I find you?
We are located in Milton, Ontario, at 123 Main Street East. On the corner of Main and James. Link to Google Maps here.
Are you part of a denomination?
We are a congregation of The United Church of Canada.
Is there a difference between the 9:30 and 11:00 AM Service?
9:30 AM is known as The Annex and meets in the Community Hall. This service offers contemporary music and the coffee is on when you arrive.
11:00 AM is the traditional service, with hymns and a choir.
What if I’m not good enough?
The whole point of Christianity is that none of us are ‘good enough’ to make it on our own. If you are feeling like you need some support, guidance and help in life, we hope you will join us. We know life is hard and hopefully together in faith we can make the journey a little easier as we seek to follow they way of Jesus.
What should I wear?
Just wear what you feel comfortable in.
What if I don’t know what to do?
You don’t have to know what to do. Most churches have some common features that include: songs, announcements, a talk of about 20 to 30 minutes, offering, and prayers. Usually the bulletin is on the website in the days before the service to help you know what to expect.
Do I really have to sing?
No you don’t. Churches sing songs as a way of expressing their love for God. Join in if you want to, join the choir if you want to, or if you just want to listen, be our guest.
How much does it cost?
No one is expected to give any money. Although, each service does include a voluntary offering that supports the life and work of our community.
Is there parking?
A parking lot is available off James Street, as well as adjacent lots on Main Street and street parking.
What if I have accessibility issues?
We are fully accessible! Wheelchair access is available at entrances off James St and Main St via the Community Building entrances.
What if I have more questions?
Life is full of questions and having faith can help us with many of life’s deeper questions. If you come and you do not know your way around, please ask one of our greeters if they can be of assistance. If you would like to speak with the minister, an appointment can be arranged.
Just remember: Church is not a building. The building is where we meet, but a church is a community of people who want to support each other. It’s not about rules – Christianity is not only about following rules but about relationships with God and others, with the presence of Jesus to guide us all through life.
